Went to visit some old friends and one former drawing teacher from the college days. Shane Gregory, Brent Thompson and former drawing teacher Dale Leys. I arrived at Shane’s palace out in the country on Friday afternoon. That night we tried to make a fire only to stand out in the cold for at least a couple of hours in the attempt. There wasn’t the right kind of small wood to get it going but it was good times either way.
That night I got a hotel even though Shane and Becky expected me to stay with them I thought it better to have a king size bed to myself considering my wounds. Courtney was nice enough to tell me the ratings and reviews of this place after I was already committed and in my room. Too which did not help me sleep but I took a few magic beans and remedied that problem.
Next day me and Shane took a trip down memory lane in Murray Kentucky at the Murray State Art building. We checked out the old drawing room and noticed that not much has changed. One very interesting thing was our backboard made of freezer tape was still in place above the entrance.
After this brief stop it was on to see the wizard man himself Dale Leys.
( note I make dale leys look way older than he realy looks in life)
So Dale greeted us with open arms and we preceded to see that he was having to re-shingle his studio thus moving a ton of things into his house. We went up into his attic where he was doing a small drawing and he begin talking and drawing. I think he might have thought we were still students coming over to gawk, but he quickly realized we were too old for this kiss ass bullshit and we proceeded downstairs. There we went through several photo’s and videos of Dales time in Venice with plenty a yarn to spin. Meanwhile I was going around taking images of his lavish abode. Dales house is like going on a archaeological dig so much history and everything has a some kind of story it seems. Needless to say it was a great visit although short and ill prepared but we made contact as they say. Dale also has some new age skills involving these computer machines he was telling us about. I have no idea what he was talking about in terms of internet’s and what not but I listened respectfully.
I think sometime soon we will do this again with a whole day to spend as opposed to a few hours.

I have plenty of video of Dale but considering the guerrilla style of visiting don’t know how much of any quality I have yet but here is one piece of interest.
